Siding: Day 7

25 Jan

It’s just after 5PM on a Saturday night, and it’s snowing, and the guys just finished working! When I checked the weather this morning, it was already in the 20s at 8 in the morning. I was getting ready for the gym and I half wondered (almost jokingly) if the guys would show up today since it was “warm” out. Moments later I noticed someone outside & sure enough they were here and ready to work.

I’m not totally sure what they got done today, since I haven’t wanted to venture out since getting home from the gym, but from the comfort and warmth of the house, it seems like they may have finished, or come close to finishing the West side of the house, and perhaps even moved around to the front. There is still a ladder setup on the side, so they may not have made it around. They did do the trim around the front door and the windows though, which is quite an improvement over the old chipped paint wood trim that had been framing the door!

Jer has spent most of the day trying to fix the outlet that controls our living room and entry lights. In nailing up the foam insulating board outside, they nailed right into a power line running to the box causing it to short out.

a nail that has continuity with the black wire on the light switch…not good

Jer had previously filled the area surrounding the outlet box with Great Stuff for insulation, which is making the task of removing the box quite difficult to say the least!
