Starting to Look Like a Deck

After our successful day of installing the third header, we were able to begin installing some of the Joists. It was absolutely scorching hot and there was sweat just pouring off us and stinging our eyes, but we pushed through. We got a bit of a late start and really got going during the hottest time of the day and the sun was just beating us down.
We took a lunch break around 4:00 because we were starting to really feel the heat and needed to get out of it for a bit.
Luckily by the time we came back a few clouds had rolled in and the sun was a little lower in the sky so we were able to get all of the 20 foot joists installed on the joist hangers. Everything we have to lift from here on in should be a little lighter now that the 20 footers are all in place. We worked until it started to rain and we quickly had to pack everything up. It was only a light rain and we had been soaked with sweat anyway, but the tools and cardboard boxes and stuff need to stay dry.

We finally got a chance to take a shower and relax and then it finally began to downpour outside and sadly, somehow our pop up tent collapsed in very dramatic fashion, requiring me to go back outside and get wet again to disassemble the damaged tent and rescue the stuff that was underneath it. I have previously repaired this tent before and all the parts are available to purchase individually so it will live on to shade us in the future!
